Martin Lucas has over thirty-five years in the Maritime Industry and holds a 3,000-ton All Oceans International Master's License and a 1,600-ton All Oceans USCG Masters License. Martin now provides consulting on Cruise port design and excursions, marina design, development, and management consulting service.
Martin has sailed five trans-Atlantic crossings and two Panama Canal transits. He has managed new builds and refits in New Zealand, Palma Mallorca, New Bedford, Savannah, and Ft. Lauderdale.
He also has a small marina in Ft. Lauderdale where he owns a fleet of sport fishing charter boats as well as other water-related activities.
Three of the sailing yachts on which Martin was Captain were each, at the time, the largest of their kind ever built in the United States. He has also been involved in the purchase and sale of a number of vessels.
Martin participated, from the beginning in the creation and growth of Island Global Yachting Marinas and served as the Director of Customer Service and Quality Assurance for the Company. He was an integral part of the acquisition of Yacht Haven Grande in St Thomas and Rodney Bay Marina in St Lucia and then in the design, re-development and project management of those two world-class marina resorts.
Martin is currently engaged in the planning of cruise ship excursion docks, cruise ship excursions, and the recommendations for procurement of those vessels for excursion locations.
Martin has served on the Board of Directors of the Virgin Islands Charter Yacht League, SMICWE, and Historic Ports and is a committee member at USSA, the US Super-Yacht Association.
